The Guernsey starlet will be rubbing shoulders with the likes of Aimee Gibson as one of the eight players picked to represent GB at the FIP World Cup Finals in Doha, Qatar, which run from next Monday to Saturday.

This follows a stellar showing in the Europe Qualifier where she contributed three wins towards GB’s unbeaten run.

‘I’m really happy I was selected and grateful they have put their faith in me,’ she said.

‘To be going away with all the best in GB is just incredible.’

The squad youngster is still riding the high of not just playing but being a pivotal part of GB’s campaign in Spain last month.

In a sense, she has already achieved her goal, but she is hopeful of picking up more results on the world stage next month.

The prospect of meeting padel giants such as Spain means that is easier said than done.

‘Our goal was to qualify,’ she added.

‘We’ve done that. Now it’s just to see where we place literally to the world’s best.

‘A good few teams, they’re just too good, but I would say there’s a few where we have a chance.’

The humble Sarnian admits she has got a lot more exposure and attention following her emergence as a full senior GB international.

However, she is not letting it get to her head. The current world No 268 simply aims to ‘keep improving and keep getting better’ amid all this.

‘There’s quite a lot [of attention], especially after qualifying for the World Cup, but I try to take it in my step as well.

‘I’m not too blown over by it.’

While still awaiting the official draw, GB women’s team captain Libby Fletcher has felt the excitement among the squad prior to the big trip.

‘Qualifying for the World Cup Finals was a proud achievement for this group of women, and we’re looking forward to representing Great Britain on the biggest stage in padel,’ she said.

The squad will arrive early to acclimatise and train before the start of the group games on Monday.

Matches will be shown live on YouTube through the FIP – International Padel Federation channel.
