The Guernsey Sports Commission will host the awards night on Thursday 7 January at Beau Sejour’s David Ferguson Hall, starting at 6.30pm.

There are 12 awards up for grabs, and nominations must be in by Monday 7 December. The criteria for each award, along with a simple online nomination form, are available on the commission’s website.

‘There’s been lots of sporting action both domestically and on the national and international stage over the last year, so there should be plenty of performances and achievements to celebrate,’ said the commission’s operations director Graham Chester, who chairs the judging panel.

‘From those competing on the world stage to some of our young sports stars just starting out on their sporting careers, these awards celebrate the very best of local talent.’

Mr Chester encouraged all local sporting organisations to put forward their top teams, coaches or individuals.

‘We want the evening to be a real celebration of the breadth and depth of sport here in Guernsey and share some of the stories around the top performances of the last 12 months,’ he said.

Guest speakers and presenters will be announced nearer the time.
