Tracey Leggett, pictured, had gone through a 'horrendous' 2013 following the death of her sister, father and own illnesses – including suspected cancer which led to the hysterectomy.
Following prolonged compassionate leave, sickness and holiday, she returned to her role at employment specialists AO Hall in September to be told within an hour of arriving that her job had been deemed surplus to requirements.
Three days later she was formally made redundant.
Alison Ozanne, one of the founders, represented AO Hall on the tribunal's first day. She said Miss Leggett's prolonged absence had shown that her department – dispute resolution – had been overmanned. Miss Leggett was the only one to be considered for redundancy.
'Her work had been absorbed by other colleagues and continues to be so.
