Vale deputies, led by Mother of the House Mary Lowe, met with ministers to outline the concerns that have been raised for the past two years.

Deputy Lowe acknowledged Guernsey Electricity had carried out measures to reduce disruption but said neighbours were still suffering with headaches and dizziness.

'The neighbours have been let down by Guernsey Electricity, but they will not be let down by the States,' she said.

'Something has to happen because they just can't live as it is and this has just been going on for far too long. The Policy Council were unanimous in looking to rehouse the neighbours. It is now getting staff to prepare a paper on the various options and I don't expect it will take too long.'
