Organised by the equality charity Liberate, a seemingly endless sea of marchers sporting rainbow flags, wigs and costumes snaked through the streets from St Helier's Wests Centre to Weighbridge Square on Saturday afternoon in Jersey.

Scores of people travelled from Guernsey to take part in the colourful event.

Guests and performers included the chief ministers of Guernsey and Jersey, actress and musician Heather Peace, pop artists Bother, and Shirley Bassey impersonator Paula Randell.

Entertainment went on throughout the day in the square following the march and continued into the evening, with bars and clubs in the area putting on specially themed nights.
