Founder Linda Garnham said it expected to be able to take 1,500 boxes to refugees in Germany in several weeks' time, and was bowled over by people's generosity – however some items were in short supply.
'We need baby bottles (new ones), shower gel and shampoo, sweets that are gelatine-free – not all the brand names are, but a lot of the Tesco own-brand sweets seem to be, and chocolate is fine.
Nappy barrier cream was also needed, she added.
'We have an Amazon wishlist set up as well.'
