Last night's game between host nation France and Romania was the first in a tournament that will see 24 teams play in 10 cities over 30 days.
And local pubs are ensuring people enjoy the best experiences they can, with both England and Wales kicking off their campaigns today.
White Rock Brewery co-founder Ross Gledhill said drinks promotions would be running during the tournament and that the brewery's two pubs – the
Cornerstone and Golden Lion, with their 20 draught products – were ready.
'We will be showing the games live, the Cornerstone will have its five TV screens, plus the big screen coming down, and the Golden Lion will be showing the games as well.'
Liberation Brewery managing director Mark Crowther said it was celebrating the tournament with a special beer.
'It is called Back of the Net and will be available through some of our pubs,' he said.
