This year’s milestone event will be headlined by Rickie and Melvin, radio DJs and television hosts. Alongside them, festival-goers can look forward to a rich line-up of local talent and top UK tribute bands.

Festival organiser Alex Lock said that years now of organising the event had enabled he and his team to streamline the setting up process.

‘The preparation gets easier every year,’ he said.

‘Our team know what they’re doing and have got more confident over the past five years.’

Spirits remained high around the showground even despite a rainy morning yesterday.

‘If anything, the rain has been helpful’, Mr Lock said.

‘It pushed our team to get as many things done as possible before the rain came, so they didn’t have to set up in the wet.’

As always, the final hours leading up to the event can be a bit of a whirlwind.

‘It’s always a mad rush to get everything done,’ said Mr Lock.

‘But it’s always finished and ready for when the doors open.’

This year’s festival will feature a new addition – a firework display to mark the five-year anniversary.

‘We’re looking forward to it’, said Mr Lock.

‘Ticket sales have been fantastic this year and we are excited to see the hard work everyone has done come to fruition.’

The event is taking place at the Rabbit Warren, with the doors opening at 1pm.

While more showers are expected today, Saturday is due to mark the start of a period of dry, sunny weather.
