Pride of Guernsey: ' A truly remarkable couple'
A MARRIED couple's passion to deliver the best service, combined with their strong work ethic, are key reasons why The Duke of Richmond Hotel is such a popular place, according to their nominator for the RefCo-sponsored Welcome of the Year Award.
The regular business and leisure customer said that food and beverage manager Orlando Abreu and wife Olga, who is restaurant manageress, are a truly remarkable couple.
'They are always cheerful, professional, respectful and friendly, and they never fail to provide a memorable welcome to all of the hotel's visitors,' he said.
'From their warm welcoming smiles to their humour and engaging conversation, nothing is ever too much trouble for them.
'They are always keen to go the extra mile for their hotel guests and everybody leaves in the knowledge that they have been well looked after.'
Their nominator said he had used the hotel for social and business bookings many times and one of the reasons he had no hesitation in recommending it to people visiting Guernsey was the first-class welcome and the consistent service he knew they would always get from Mr and Mrs Abreu.
'They both take time to ensure their guests are happy and comfortable whilst still finding time to lend a helping hand to their supportive staff,' he said.
