The service set sail this morning for the first time, and was welcomed back into the harbour with a water canon salute from the Sarnia workboat.
Adverse weather conditions affected trials in Jersey and operational preparations were not completed in time causing the delay.
'We're really excited to commence our first passenger service,' the company said.
'We would like to thank everyone for their support and look forward to providing daily inter-island services.'
It is understood that sailings this weekend have been cancelled due to the weather.
