Pride of Guernsey - 'A kind and helpful teacher'
A 'KIND and helpful' teacher, Claire Judd always comes into St Martin's Primary with a smile on her face and helps to ensure her pupils are just as happy as well.
She has been nominated for the Garenne-sponsored Teacher of the Year Award by St Martin's Primary pupil Caitlin Ferbrache, who was taught by Mrs Judd last year and is full of praise for her support and guidance.
'She is kind, helpful, funny and does a lot for St Martin's Primary School,' she said. 'She has set up a gardening club on Friday lunchtimes. We really enjoy it.'
While Caitlin is no longer taught by Mrs Judd, she is still a keen participant at the gardening club. However, she said there were plenty of other reasons why she is a worthy winner of the Teacher of the Year Award.
'She does assemblies based on news items from the past week, starting with serious items and ending with a light-hearted item.
'She comes into school in the morning with a wide smile which she retains all week, no matter what happens,' said Caitlin.
In a nutshell, Caitlin said, Mrs Judd is quite simply 'the best teacher ever'.
