Le Friquet planning luxury lodges

A GROUP of 11 self-catering luxury lodges could be built on a disused vinery site in Castel, if planners give the go-ahead.

The outline application was made by Le Friquet Ltd and Le Friquet Investments Ltd and relates to a vinery behind Le Friquet Country Hotel.

In the planning application Debbie Joyce, from Turnstone Architecture, said it had been prepared jointly by the hotel and the owner of the vinery site.

'The self-catering lodges would be operated as an ancillary part of the existing hotel business, with the existing hotel facilities being shared with the proposed lodges,' she wrote.

'This will enable the hotel to increase its offer in terms of bed spaces and so enhance the viability of the business generally.'
