Defeated candidates call on UK to investigate election
SIX unsuccessful election candidates are hoping the UK will step in and declare April's election illegal.
Neil Forman, Ray Marshall, Martyn Roussel, Greg Archer, Neil Shepherd and Michael Henderson have jointly written to the UK Government regarding their claim that the States acted in a discriminatory manner when supporting women-only events in the run-up to the election.
Mr Marshall said the matter was ongoing.
The group hoped the UK would step in as Guernsey was a Crown Dependency and supposed to obey the law, he said. He declined to comment any further.
On a guernseypress.com blog post, Mr Forman said they sent the letter after having not received an 'adequate response' to their complaint from the States.
