Guernsey actress lands role in international TV thriller

AN AMERICAN TV debut is on the cards for one local actress after she scored a role in hit US thriller Quantico.

The 24-meets-Homeland show centres around a group of FBI recruits battling their way through training at the academy in Quantico, Virginia, unaware one of their own is masterminding the biggest terror attack since the 11 September attacks.

And in season two, former Ladies' College student Claire Warden will star as Elizabeth Haney, head of British intelligence service MI6, the first time she has appeared in a mainstream American TV role.

Although unable to give many details as to the exact nature of the role, Ms Warden – who now lives in New York, where the show is filmed – said it was an exciting, if tiring, day of filming.

'I got the part through the bizarre game of acting. Your agent calls and says, "you have an appointment, go in and see them", you go in, do the read through, they give you some points, you do it again, and then you either hear from them or not.

'They called my agent back and said they wanted to "pin" me, which is when they think they want to use you but need final sign-off, and so you do not take up other commitments.

'This is my first national TV gig in America and I think the show goes out to 52 countries.'
