Nine sites possible as alternatives to Fontaine
PROGRESS is being made in States efforts to rehome Fontaine Vinery tenants, as nine prospective alternative sites are identified by Property Services.
Tenants on the temporary States site are currently on one-month rolling contracts as attempts are made to move them.
Property Services said the sites, which are all over 10,000sq. metres, were predominantly derelict glasshouse areas which could benefit from the potential income generated should the land be cleared and leased to light industry.
'Property Services has been delighted with the positive reaction from landowners, with the majority responding to the request for expressions of interest.'
The service said each site's potential for housing open-compound storage had been discussed ahead of preparing a formal assessment.
