Amy Richardson, 31, will take on a 333-mile trek in memory of her husband, Lee Hope, who died last year.

She will be joined by other members of Lee's family and his friends who will be walking from the Sir Bobby Robson statue in Ipswich to the one at St James' Park, Newcastle, in the hope of raising £50,000 for the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation.

The gruelling journey will take place in April over 12 days.

Lee, a Joint Emergency Services Control Centre team leader, was just 33 when he was diagnosed last April with bowel cancer. Doctors found that it had spread to his liver. He died around 10 weeks later in July.

Dad to two-year-old Livia, Lee was originally from North Tyneside but had moved to Guernsey with Amy around eight years ago.

The trek is something Amy has been organising with Lee's brother, Scott, as they both looked to do something for their much-loved husband and brother.
