Ready to fly

GADOC's Easter musical, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, flies onto the Beau Sejour stage on Saturday with the first of nine sell-out performances. Last Sunday The Rink, Gadoc's Delancey HQ, was abuzz, with cast and crew putting the finishing touches to their performances, costumes and set.

Caractacus Potts is played by Matt Judge, his first lead role in a musical, and he is finding it hugely enjoyable.

'I am very aware that everyone knows Dick Van Dyke's performance in the film and I've tried not to copy this, but make the character my own and still do it justice.

'I think I have matured into the role of a father of two children over the course of rehearsals, though I have no experience of fatherhood in real life to draw from,' said Matt.

He added that the children, played by Poppy Cochrane and Joe Andrijasevic, have been great to work with.

Martine Wallbridge, who plays Truly Scwrumptious, has been having a lot of fun.
