Phil Ozanne took home the top honours at the 37th Carole Nash International Classic MotorCycle Show, which was held in Staffordshire.

Mr Ozanne, who was an entrant on the Triton Owners' Club stand, finished second in the show three years ago with the same motorcycle.

A Triton is a Triumph/Norton hybrid machine that Mr Ozanne said combined the high performance of a Triumph engine with the superior frame of a Norton.

'All are individually made and all are different as you put your own artistic licence on it,' he said. 'The boys in the club often say a Triton is never finished as you see other bikes, pick up other good ideas and change things.'

His machine combines a 1961 Bonneville engine with a 1959 slimline frame, to which Mr Ozanne has made several adjustments, the last being a Manx Norton frame in T45 aircraft steel as per the race bikes.

He felt his motorcycle's traditional colour scheme also added to its aesthetic appeal.
