The force has endorsed the app, called Hollie Guard, which is recommended by a number of police forces in the UK for people who have been victims of violence and are worried about any future violent acts.

It said it could also have benefits for Guernsey students overseas, parents who want to give their children a little more freedom and even athletes in training.

The app is available for free and is compatible on all smartphones.
