Audience divided over Sunset in Herm finale

TWO songs from star guest Pixie Lott at yesterday’s Sunset on Herm concert divided opinion among the audience, with the younger members delighted to have seen the popstar while many adults were angry and feeling short-changed over her appearance.

Some 500 adults and young people went over for the event, which saw an afternoon of music from local acoustic duo Belacqua and DJ James Turner, followed by UK DJ Anton Powers.

Pixie Lott’s appearance concluded a rainy afternoon, but her set list of two songs left some wet members of the audience annoyed. ‘I think it was a lot of money for two songs at the end,’ said Rachel Robins, as she arrived back in Guernsey.

Tickets, which included transport and food, were £49 for adults and £20 for teens.

But the afternoon went down well with younger members of the audience.

‘ My daughter enjoyed it and it was aimed at the teenagers,’ said Lou Totty on Facebook as critical comments started to appear on the page of concert sponsors JT. ‘Nowhere else in the world would you get to see an act that close.’
