Environment & Infrastructure’s £1m. proposals to dramatically change the coastline by removing a 130m section of wall and encouraging sand dunes to form have been approved in the States.

Deputies also voted to demolish the kiosk and rebuild it in a different position through a public/private partnership.

The kiosk closed for what is likely to be the last time on Sunday, but a regular user, Dan Gallienne, 27, wants to have ‘one final go’ at saving the kiosk and wall.

He has organised a protest on the beach next for Sunday 15 October at 11am, in what he described as their ‘last chance to make a stand’ before E&I go to the planning authorities with an application to undertake the managed realignment of the bay.
