The Tourism Management Board is ‘delighted’ with the strong results from the recently published Travel and Visitor Accommodation Report, which revealed that more than a quarter of a million people visited the island in 2025 – an increase of some 6% on the year before.
‘The growth in visitor numbers and improved occupancy, especially during the shoulder season, was an area we identified as a key strategic focus,’ said Clare Crowson, TMB co-chair.
‘In addition to the notable increase in visitors arriving by sea, thanks to our strengthened partnership with Brittany Ferries, we are particularly pleased to see that air travel has experienced the most substantial growth in visitor volume. Aurigny’s improved performance this year has played a pivotal role in this success, bringing an additional 15,000 visitors from the UK and Paris.’
The island is also celebrating its highest-ever Net Promoter Score, which shows how likely visitors are to recommend Guernsey to a friend or relative. Ms Crowson said this significant improvement is a testament to the hard work that has been done to enhance local visitors’ experience.
‘It reflects not only the quality of service but also our commitment to nurturing loyal, repeat visitors who become true advocates for the island,’ she said.
‘With wellness, food, and experience-led holidays set to be key trends this year – it’s an exciting time for Guernsey, and we expect to see continued but sustainable growth for 2026.’
Guernsey Hospitality Association president Alan Sillett said the latest figures showed positive momentum for the local sector.
‘Growth in visitor numbers and record satisfaction levels are encouraging signs that give us a solid foundation to build on this year,’ he said.
‘Guernsey remains an attractive and competitive destination.’
Brittany Ferries said it was proud to be playing a role in the island’s tourism resurgence, as visitor numbers and confidence continue to climb. As well as more sea travellers, the report indicated an increase of 11,000 more visitors from France last year than in 2024.
‘This momentum reflects improved scheduling, proactive marketing and the strong collaboration between Visit Guernsey and our industry partners, which are bringing the island to a wider audience than ever before,’ said a spokesman for Brittany Ferries.
‘By continuing to strengthen our UK and France services, we’re creating real opportunities and delivering tangible benefits for the local economy and tourism sector.’
Philip Saunders, chief commercial officer at Aurigny, said: ‘It’s encouraging to see that visitors travelling to Guernsey by plane increased by 12% in 2025.
‘Aurigny truly had a record year, and visitors travelling between the island and the UK can be confident of the continued excellent service from Aurigny. It’s a strong indicator of the continued demand to experience our islands.’
