Deputy Le Pelley was speaking after the release of the 2018 Budget, which detailed his committee’s request for £77.8m. for 2018, nearly £4m. more than Policy & Resources believes it needs.
If its wishes are granted, its 2018 budget would be £3m. more than its 2017 figure.
The committee said last month that it had been facing challenges in aiming to realise its 3% savings target for 2017 – just over £2m.
Deputy Le Pelley said the committee hoped savings would be achieved by the transformation of post-16 education, but warned that any further delay might affect that.
