As a a result, more than 500 elderly people who receive community nursing and care will receive a Christmas gift thanks to local businesses.
The community nurses will distribute the gifts during their rounds in the coming weeks.
A total of 537 packages have been donated in an effort to ensure everyone on the island has something to unwrap on Christmas Day.
Estera manager Sarah Felmingham started the appeal three years ago after it missed the Tree of Joy deadline.

‘So the next year we managed to go to other offices and people we work with who were happy to help and now we’re able to say that everyone who is in contact with community nurses in their homes will receive at least one present,’ she said.
