Everything on track for IWV referendum in October 2018

A LAW that will allow the island-wide voting referendum to take place next year should go before the States around February.

States Assembly and Constitution Committee president Matt Fallaize, pictured right, said preparations for the referendum were going well.

It is hoped the public vote on a new electoral system will take place in the autumn.

The Legislation Review Panel scrutinised the law on Monday.

‘[Sacc] has spent recent weeks preparing the law which will set out the terms of the referendum,’ said Deputy Fallaize.
