Tumaini Fund Christmas in Town Church this evening

TUMAINI Fund will be hosting an evening of refreshments and carol singing this evening at the Town Church.

Kihingi children, who were affected when a pupil accidentally took an explosive into the school, were delighted to receive school books thanks to donations from Guernsey people.

The free event coincides with the last evening of late shopping and will take place between 5 and 9.

There will be tea, coffee and cake and a performance from the Festiva choir.

Also on sale will be Tanzanian crafts raising money for the Tumaini Fund and Kihingi Appeal.

The appeal, run by Tumaini founder Dr Sue Wilson, is the only non-governmental organisation aid getting to those in need since a child accidentally brought an explosive to a primary school in Kihingi last month.

So far, islanders have raised £10,000 in a matter of weeks for the children affected by the accident.
