Islanders of all ages braved the conditions at Cobo as they lined up along the bay and made the traditional dash for the sea.
The annual Guernsey Cheshire Home-fundraiser is in its 18th year and Kate Stallard was taking part with son Xavi, 4, for the first time since leaving the island two years ago.
They were joined by her friend, Lindsay Gourley, and her sons, Barney, 10, and Stanley, 6.
‘I like it when a wave comes near me and I can wrap the wave with my feet,’ said Xavi.
Stanley said he enjoyed the conditions, as they resulted in larger waves and made it more exciting.
‘My favourite bit is when I run into the sea and a rush of water comes over my head,’ he said.
