One week left to get your Pride of Guernsey votes in

ISLANDERS have just one more week to get their votes in for this year’s Pride of Guernsey Awards.

The public vote, which will see three nominees shortlisted in each of the 13 categories, has been in full swing since the start of August.

All votes have to be in by 10am on Friday 31 August.

For the first year, the awards have an event sponsor in Alexander Daniels, which has also taken on the role of sponsoring a new category, Customer Service of the Year.

But it is not all change, as awards hosts Jo and Andy Priaulx will be back to help the community celebrate on the big night – Saturday 6 October.

‘Both Jo and I are truly honoured to be able to support this event for the third year,’ said Mr Priaulx.

‘It’s always an emotional and special evening, which celebrates the community and the amazing people who give up their time, energy or expertise.

‘Thank you to the Guernsey Press for continuing to celebrate and bring these heroes into the limelight.’

He urged islanders to vote if they had not already done so.

‘Please don’t forget to send in your vote and make someone feel truly special.’

Once the shortlists have been drawn up, a panel of judges will have the difficult task of choosing the eventual winners.

Judging will take place in September at at the OGH.

When announced on the night, the winners will receive their award and a prize worth £1,000.
