Motorist films bus travelling on wrong side of the road

AN INVESTIGATION is under way after a bus was filmed travelling on the wrong side of the road.

A video was posted on Facebook of this bus rounding the corner near Perelle garage and drifting onto the right-hand side of the road, moving out of the way just fractions of a second before a car pulled out from a lane on the right.

A video was posted on Facebook of the CT Plus bus rounding the corner where Rue du Catioroc becomes Route de la Perelle.

The person who posted it commented: ‘I was following this stupid bus driver around the coast just before [the driver] cut every inside corner he went around and was swerving all over the road.’

He also said the bus was travelling at 35mph and commented that he thought buses were restricted to 25mph due to their weight.

A CT Plus spokesman said: ‘When this matter arose, we immediately referred it to the police – as per our policy.

‘We also began an internal investigation in line with our procedure.’

In the video, the bus was almost completely over the central white line as it rounded the corner.

As it moved back onto the left side of the road, a car pulled up to the yellow line from a lane on the right.

Some of the comments on social media described the driver as taking ‘the racing lines’ on the road and many people said they were shocked to see such driving.

A couple said how close the bus was to the car pulling out on the right andhow the near miss could have written the car off if it had been slightly over theline.

Others hoped ‘the police do their job’ with investigating this case.

A Guernsey Police spokesman said the matter was being investigated.
