The company said that the trials formed part of its ongoing work to explore how it can support and enhance connectivity across the Channel Islands, with Alderney identified as a potential destination.
The trials were conducted in close coordination with local harbour authorities and marine professionals, assessing manoeuvrability, berthing operations, and operational compatibility within Braye Harbour.
‘This has been a very positive and productive day,’ said an Islands Unlimited spokesman.
‘The successful berthing trial confirms that San Pawl is capable of safely operating passenger services into Alderney, which is an exciting development as we continue exploring ways to strengthen inter-island transport links across the Bailiwick.’
The company emphasised that the trial was part of a broader programme of operational assessments and engagement with stakeholders as it considers future route development opportunities within the Channel Islands, and said it would provide further updates as discussions continued.
