Fort Doyle was part of the island-wide fortification network on the northern shore of Guernsey during the early 19th Century.

The network was designed to protect the island against a French invasion.

Originally, three 18-pounder cannons were stationed in the battery in the fort, but during the Second World War the occupying German forces heavily fortified the area with three coastal defence guns, anti-aircraft guns and mortars.
