This year’s Swimarathon has been launched. Skipton Swimarathon Ambassador and distance swimmer Adrian Sarchet is on the left with committee chairman Nick Guillemette.

Time slots are available for teams between 29 September and 3 October.

Proceeds will go jointly towards the Priaulx Premature Baby Foundation, for its work helping local families visiting sick children at Southampton Hospital, and upgrading IT equipment at Citizens Advice Guernsey.

Swimarathon committee chairman Nick Guillemette said they were astounded by the generosity and enthusiasm shown by participants and supporters.

‘With 2020 being our biggest event ever – raising a whopping £71,000 – we are keen to welcome those who are returning to the pool and all new faces,’ he said.

He thanked Skipton International for its continued support.

Skipton Swimarathon Ambassador and distance swimmer Adrian Sarchet said the two amazing charities were an inspiration to everyone.

‘Their work has touched so many islanders’ lives, that every team that registers will have something personal to swim for,’ he said.

‘This is our chance to learn from these charities’ shining example, and give something back.’

Business teams can help raise funds and special awards are given to those organisations which raise in excess of £500, £1,000, £1,500 and £2,500.

. Teams of up to eight are invited to book their lanes at www.swimarathon.org. Lanes can get booked up very quickly, so it is advisable to reserve quickly. Fancy dress and fun attire is encouraged.
