AFTER nearly 15 years as a couple, Herm’s CEO Craig Senior has tied the knot with his wife in the only place that felt right – Herm.

He and his wife Emma met on New Year’s Day more than a decade ago, but waited until this week to get married, after a close friend passed away who had always encouraged them to do so. They married in St Tugual’s Chapel on Tuesday.

‘The church was great, it was a stunning setting and just a lovely wedding,’ said Mr Senior.

Around 150 family and friends travelled to the island for the occasion, where they enjoyed dolphin-watching, rock and roll bingo, and a fitting traditional dinner of fish and chips.

The celebration ended up lasting three days, and many of the guests decided to explore Guernsey afterwards for the first time.

Herm has had an impressive tourist season so far, with more than 17,000 return trips being made there with ferry operators in July – more that the total number for April, May and June combined.

‘Getting married in the week takes the pressure off the business. It worked really well,’ said Mr Senior.

Being the middle of the peak season there was no honeymoon for the time being, but he said Herm was the perfect spot to be right now.

The couple and their two children moved to Herm in 2017.
