Yesterday King Charles and Queen Camilla met Tamsin the Golden Guernsey, having, on their previous visit in 2012, met Tamsin’s mum.

The King picked up the golden bell and gave it to Joe Corr, 9, before giving Tamsin a stroke.

Joe was the one to put the bell on Tamsin.

‘The King was asking me questions about how to look after the goats and how to keep them well,’ he said.

‘He asked how often I help to look after the goats and I said every day.

‘Tamsin behaved perfectly.’

Becca Martin said that Tamsin’s temperament was one of the reasons she was selected.

‘She’s well-behaved and the goat that we will take to a show or a public event, she’s very calm,’ she said.

‘It’s all been a bit crazy really, meeting the King and taking the award was the easy part, but there’s so many national media here.

‘The plans have changed a lot. The King was originally meant to put the collar on Tamsin.’

The bell had a green velvet collar, had yesterday’s date on and the Royal Golden Guernsey title.

It is understood that the family will not get to keep the golden bell but it will instead stay at Government House.
