The Visitor Information Centre has opened in Market Square.

The new location has been renovated, with seating along the original window.

‘Our new location will allow us to welcome visitors more effectively and efficiently, ensuring they have the best possible experience,’ said States lead marketing officer Zoe Gosling.

‘The Market Square is returning to being a great community hub and, with increasingly more businesses moving into the area, events taking place and the George Crossan Gallery upstairs, we will be perfectly positioned in the middle of all this activity, which is great for visitors.

‘This move is part of our ongoing commitment to enhance customer experience and provide better access to our services.’

More signs are going up so people can find the centre, which used to be on the seafront between the Crown Pier and North Beach.

But the centre had to move as the Victor Hugo Centre signed a letter of exclusivity with the States for the building.

‘This move presented the opportunity to breathe life back into an important building in the heart of St Peter Port,’ said Economic Development president Neil Inder.

‘The new location is convenient, easy to signpost to, with a prominent, visible shop front and will provide a more engaging experience for visitors.’
