States chief digital and information officer Ge Drossaert confirmed it was ready to transition to the new model tomorrow.
‘Following our decision to terminate the contract with Agilisys, we wanted to move to a new multi-vendor model – meaning services and projects will be delivered by a range of providers rather than one,’ he said.
‘The States has therefore recently announced five agreements with a range of providers, all taking effect from Friday.’
It has already been announced that C5 Alliance will provide day-to-day IT support for public sector staff, while JT will be responsible for IT networks, hosting and infrastructure.
Epam will implement ServiceNow – the AI platform for business transformation, to enable the delivery over time of additional online services to the community.
It has also been contracted to implement the ServiceNow solution and provide application support services for the Revenue Service.
Apogee, an HP company, will supply IT hardware across the public sector.
Mr Drossaert said that various other contracts with domain specific vendors were also being completed at the moment.
‘We believe there are many benefits from a multi-vendor model,’ he said.
These included including the ability to select the best vendors and suppliers for specific services or technologies.
He said that working with a range of providers would increase supplier accountability to deliver, enable easier access to specialised expertise, and enhance the States’ resilience and reduce the risk of service disruptions. Less reliance on a single supplier and being able to select the right supplier for the right service or would improve IT services and provide a better experience for users.
‘A huge amount of work has been completed in a relatively short amount of time to try and have a smooth transition as part of this process,’ Mr Drossaert said.
‘The States operates a large number of systems to support the delivery of wide-ranging public services, and as such, a transition process like this is very complicated.
‘To ensure the transition is smooth, we have paused some projects at natural milestones and paused the internal purchase of IT software and hardware.
‘This has allowed our teams to focus on work needed for the transition in recent weeks.’
