The popular attraction was reopened a few weeks ago after work had taken place to ensure there was a safe depth of water under the board.
Now Environment & Infrastructure is proposing some more changes.
This includes extending the platform by 25cm, so it would provide the minimum 75cm projection, replacing the access steps and adding handrails to the steps, and fixing strips of high-grip material to the deck of the platform, to reduce the risk of slipping in wet conditions.
The fine grit non-slip strips would be secured. It is proposed black strips are used, with yellow strips to mark the edge of the platform at the top of the access steps and at the end of the platform.
Replacement safety signage is also proposed at the entrance of the Ladies Pool, which gives advice about using the board, pool rules, and where to get help if needed.
This includes informing people not to use the platform when it is submerged or using the pool when more than 410 people were already at the pool. There are also warnings about the dangers of sea surges and changing water depths.
