The new facility was designed by architects Lovell Ozanne and was primarily delivered in partnership with local contractors, and the £10m. venue now serves as a central hub for Guernsey football.
‘It was clear from the outset when working on Victoria Park that this facility is going to play a vital role in Guernsey’s sporting present and future – the design and construction needed to reflect that. Fittingly for a football facility, it was a real team effort to make it happen and we’re proud of the result of that close collaboration,’ said Lovell Ozanne director Andrew Merrett.
Lovell Ozanne was also awarded the Sustainable Project of the Year award for Plaza House in Admiral Park. Plaza House is Guernsey’s first BREEAM rated building, meaning it meets the highest standards in sustainable design. The project incorporated advanced energy systems, water conversion strategies, and low-carbon transport infrastructure.
‘These awards are a reflection of our team’s dedication to creating architecture that is both purposeful and enduring,’ said Mr Merrett.
‘We’re proud to contribute to Guernsey’s evolving built environment and grateful to our clients and collaborators for their trust and partnership.’
The awards took place last week and recognised excellence in design, innovation, and delivery, with particular focus on projects that contribute positively to Guernsey’s communities, environment, and economy.
The awards recognised industry professionals as well as projects.
‘The Guernsey Property and Construction Awards showcase the exceptional talent and dedication within our island’s property and construction industries. The winners reflect the passion and expertise driving Guernsey’s future construction environment,’ said Karen Solway, event organiser.
