Kirsten Hunter, 31, of Les Amarreurs Road, Vale, admitted the offence.
The court was told how the incident had occurred on the patio of hotel at about 6.30pm.
When Hunter appeared to have unknowingly dropped her sunglasses, the victim picked them up and offered them to her. Hunter appeared to be very drunk and acted aggressively towards the victim before being ushered away by friends.
When the victim and her husband advised security staff that the defendant should be made to leave, the situation escalated.
Hunter made an allegation against the victim’s husband before pulling the victim’s hair.
Hunter ended up on the ground, where she appeared to have some type of fit or seizure, and she was taken to hospital for assessment.
Later, in interview, she said she had drunk a bottle of Prosecco and four or five vodka jello shots before leaving home that day. She said she was not normally aggressive and felt awful when told of what had happened.
She put drunkenness on a scale of seven out of 10 and said she did not know why she had made accusations against the victim’s husband.
Defending, Advocate Samuel Steel said his client had co-operated fully with police and wished to apologise to the couple and anyone else who witnessed what had happened. She thought her drink might have been spiked. No serious injuries had been caused and she was very stressed to be brought before the court.
She had two previous cautions on her record. Judge Gary Perry said the defendant might be best placed to look at her own behaviour. Despite the possibility of a spiked drink, she had consumed a substantial amount of alcohol prior to her outing.
He fined her £700.
