20-year-old woman is arrested on suspicion of attempted murder

A YOUNG woman was arrested in the early hours of Sunday on suspicion of attempted murder.

Police issued a statement late yesterday afternoon.

One person was rushed to hospital on Saturday night and remains there in a serious but stable condition, said Detective Superintendent Jonathan Bancroft.

The woman arrested is 20 years old.

‘Today, crime scene investigators have been carrying out work on a property in the area of Victoria Avenue, which is why there has been an increased police presence in that area,’ said DS Bancroft. ‘Incidents of this nature are thankfully very rare occurrences in Guernsey, and I’d like to take this opportunity to reassure islanders that we are not currently searching for any further suspects.

'There is no information at present that suggests any wider risk.
