The luxury hospitality and hotel management group owns hotels in Africa, Asia and Europe.

Eight Continents Hotels & Resorts CEO Haninder Sachdeva said they were pleased to take on the St Marton’s establishment, which includes the four-star hotel, restaurant and pool.

‘The addition of La Barbarie Hotel to our portfolio is a testament to our dedication to curating unique and memorable stays for our guests,’ he said.

‘Guernsey, with its rich cultural heritage and natural beauty, provides the perfect backdrop for our brand’s ethos of offering authentic and luxurious experiences.’

The hotel was owned by business partners Andrew Wright and Andy Coleman, but they put it on the market in November 2024.

Under the leadership of general manager Liam Bumstead, the hotel will now undergo a soft enhancement programme.

The move is part of Eight Continents expansion into Europe. The chain already has eights hotels in India and two in Maldives, as well as a hotel in Tanzania. In Europe, it has five hotels in the UK.
