All three emergency services, including two fire appliances and one ambulance, were called to an incident at Four Cabot at about 11am. Two cars had collided at the junction of Rue de la Boullerie and Route de St Andre.

The vehicle on the main road hit the roadside bank and landed on its side. The female driver was trapped inside.

White Watch Fire Commander Andy Gibson said they had to remove parts of the vehicle and do a roof flap removal using hydraulic cutting equipment to get her out.

‘At the moment, we’re not entirely sure if the car has just tipped and come to rest on its side or whether it’s done a roll to get there,’ he said on the scene.

The casualty, who was the only person in the vehicle, was treated on the scene by ambulance crew for a minor head injury, and taken to hospital to be checked.

The other vehicle, a Mini, sustained some damage to its front bumper. The driver, who was alone, walked away unharmed.

The road was closed for about an hour to allow for investigations and for recovery to clear the blockage.
