‘The rise in property transactions and new arrivals demonstrates confidence in Guernsey as a destination. It signals that people value the island’s lifestyle, stability, and connectivity, which is positive for the local economy and community.’

She said that an increase in open market transactions reflected Locate Guernsey’s efforts to showcase the island as an attractive location for people to live and work.

Of the people who relocated in 2025, more than one prospective house buyer cited the island’s reputation as a safe place to live as their reason to move.

‘We supported a steady flow of individuals and families relocating to Guernsey, with interest coming from a mix of professionals, entrepreneurs, and retirees. The increase in open market transactions, particularly with a third being people new to the island, reflects the success of our efforts to showcase Guernsey as an attractive place to live and work,’ said Mrs Stoddart.

Mrs Stoddart added that it was vital that the island continued to attract new residents.

‘Attracting new residents is vital for sustaining economic growth, diversifying skills, and supporting local businesses. It helps maintain a vibrant community and ensures Guernsey remains competitive internationally. New arrivals bring investment, talent, and fresh perspectives, which strengthen the island’s long-term resilience,’ she said.
