‘We are absolutely thrilled by the support of Brittany Ferries. This partnership will allow us to bring promising talent to Guernsey, which historically we have not always been able to do,’ said St James director Jon Bisson.

‘We hope this partnership will inspire local bands and create future opportunities for island musicians.’

The initiative is already bearing fruit, with a UK band and a group of French performers who are set to travel to the island in March and April respectively.

‘We are very focused on supporting our local communities and this is a great example of collaboration, particularly in the arts,’ said Brittany Ferries commercial director Paul Acheson.

St James Concert Hall brings more than 150 performers to the island each year, with the costs typically covered by ticket sales. The new scheme is intended to allow St James to give the stage to less established artists too, and to platform more and diverse talent.
