Back to school at the Vale for the class of ‘66

Former pupils of the Vale Primary School are looking to host a grand reunion, 60 years on from when they moved on to secondary education as the class of 1966.

The event is set to take place on Saturday 6 March at the Vale Rec Clubhouse, where organiser Rosie Bradshaw hopes to bring as many of her old schoolmates back together as possible.

‘We had another reunion last year in August, but that was just for our class,’ said Mrs Bradshaw.

‘There were about 17 of us, and we had people travelling over from the UK to come for it.

‘It was really nice to see everyone.’

This time round, Mrs Bradshaw’s reunion plans are rather more ambitious, as she is hopeful that she will get people from across her year group to attend, expanding from just those who were in her class.

‘I’ve just contacted the people I know, but I’m hoping that the word will spread,’ she said.

‘Last time it was so nice, and I think it’d be really good to get everyone together again after so long.’
