The tyres were found on Petit Bot Road, close to Rue de la Falaise, right on the border of Forest and St Martin’s.

St Martin’s senior constable Dave Beausire said that the tyres had been dumped some time over the weekend.

‘It is unbelievable that someone would just dump them there,’ he said. ‘We have highlighted it because we don’t want anyone to think they can get away with this.’

Mr Beausire said the parish had reported the matter to the authorities for them to deal with.

The parish are appealing to the public for any information and would especially like to hear from garage owners or mechanics.

‘These tyres will have needed to be removed with a tyre machine so someone in the trade may recognise them,’ said Mr Beausire.

‘We are not saying they will be responsible but they might remember someone having the tyres removed and not wanting to pay for them to be disposed, which any reputable garage would do.

‘They are mostly tyre size 205/70/15 so probably off a big estate car or an SUV.’
