Online voting opened yesterday for Coop members.

‘It’s particularly encouraging this year to see both the number and the quality of candidates who have put themselves forward, with 10 candidates in Jersey and seven in Guernsey, all hoping to be elected to one member‑elected director role in each island,’ said CEO Mark Cox.

‘Members have a real choice, reflecting a wide range of skills, experience, and perspectives. Each candidate has made a positive commitment to represent members’ interests and to support the long‑term success of your Coop.

‘This level of interest shows just how much people care about our Coop and the role it plays in our communities, and it gives members confidence that strong, capable individuals are willing to stand up and represent you.’

The candidates are insurance professional and charity volunteer Phil Baldock, Deputy David Dorrity, accountant Gareth Fooks, current Co-op director and green energy businessman Ben Le Huray, lawyer Michael Morris, Deputy Sally Rochester and former deputy and previous Coop director Peter Roffey.

The Guernsey annual meeting of members takes place at 6.30pm on Tuesday 19 May at the St Pierre Park Hotel, which is the last chance to vote.
