The programme supports charities and non-profits that work to benefit Bailiwick residents and, since it was established in 2021, it has awarded more than £6m. to such organisations.

‘With £1.34m. available, we welcome applications from charities and NPOs of all sizes and from across the Bailiwick,’ said fund chairman Steve Sharman.

‘By considering applications together in one round this year, we aim to ensure our funding is directed where it can make the greatest difference to the community.’

In order to be eligible for a major grant, a charity must be working towards at least one of five outcomes – improving the lives of people with specific disadvantages, supporting employment, education or training opportunities, protecting Guernsey’s natural environment, culture and heritage, improving health and wellbeing , or creating an inclusive community that challenges discrimination.

Recent major grant recipients include Guernsey Chest & Heart LBG, which was awarded £150,000 towards three years of core running costs, St Anne’s Pre-School Playgroup in Alderney, which received £16,038 towards the first phase of its development project, to enable the group to extend their care to infants, and Independence, which was awarded £46,524 towards the costs of serving at-risk and problem gamblers, as well as affected others.

Applications are open to registered charities and non-profits that either operate in or benefit people living in the Bailiwick of Guernsey.

The application deadline is 12pm on Friday 15 May.
