Unlike the general election last year, this time there are only four polling stations at which people can cast their vote – Beau Sejour, Vale Douzaine Room, Castel Douzaine Room and St Martin’s parish hall.
Yesterday saw preparations getting under way, including at the Vale Douzaine Room, where douzenier Martine Ellis was surprisingly in receipt of what looked like a bin, doubling as a ballot box.
After the polls close at 8pm the count will take place in the Sir John Loveridge Hall at Beau Sejour until a result is announced, likely after 11pm. It will be declared by returning officer Keith Bell in the concourse, which will be open to the public.
