The course will be led by a qualified professional chef, offering practical guidance, tips and skills to help families make healthier food choices.

The sessions are designed to be accessible, supportive, and engaging for parents of all experience levels.

‘We are delighted to be working in partnership with the Health Improvement Commission on this project,’ said St Martin’s Community Centre operations manager Rebecca Silk.

‘Preparing healthy meals for families can be a daily challenge not just deciding what to cook, but knowing how to make it.

'These courses will be incredibly valuable, giving parents the opportunity to go home with a meal ready for that evening which is really exciting.

‘Cooking together as a group also makes the experience more enjoyable and supportive.

'We are very pleased to have the Health Improvement Commission involved, their expertise and experience will bring real value to the programme and to everyone taking part.’

Three trial sessions will take place at St Martin’s Community Centre on Thursdays 11, 18, and 25 June, from 1.30 to 2.30pm. Spaces are limited and early registration is encouraged.
